Food processing areas require hygienic and easy to clean floor finishes
that can withstand demanding service conditions. TAL supplied TAL X-Calibur
X-Tech Urafloor HT, a heavy duty, hygienic, polyurethane flooring solution
for the Super Spar extension in Avonmore, Durban.
The product was supplied for the bakery and butchery processing floors
where food preparation and cold storage occur. TAL X-Calibur X-Tech
Urafloor HT is designed to have high abrasion resistance and can withstand
chemical attack and thermal shock.

Building 11 in Centurion features 4000m² of cladding that’s exposed
to the elements. TAL supplied adhesives, grout and a latex additive
to deliver a waterproof and flexible tile installation that can withstand
expansion and contraction. Regular site visits were conducted to
monitor the cladding installation, including the tiled parapet walls that
required protection against moisture ingress. TAL products are
manufactured locally and developed and tested to suit the South
African climate conditions.

For the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani TAL supplied various products
to install 7000m² of glazed stoneware tiles. A highly modified adhesive
was specifically developed and manufactured for this project to deal
with excessive moment in the precast panels. TAL also conducted
weekly site inspections to ensure tiling proceeded as per the Materials
and Methods specification it issued for the challenging installation
of the facade cladding.

For the Audi Terminal concept dealership in Pinetown TAL supplied
rapid-setting and ceramic tile adhesives and grout to install 5000m²
of porcelain and ceramic tiles. The tiles were manufactured exclusively
for Audi worldwide and required a quality adhesive and grout to
ensure that the installation is durable and matches the lifespan of
the tiles. The main challenge faced by the tiling contractor was the
power floated floors.
TAL GOLDSTAR 6 provided the solution for a successful installation as
it allowed for a 20mm bed thickness where required.
