TAL X-Calibur developed a new decorative screed that was used as a final
floor solution in a residential home in Copperleaf Estate, Benoni.
TAL X-Calibur X-Tech SuperFlow, developed in collaboration with TAL X-Calibur
and Rock Solid Flooring, is manufactured locally under license from
X-Calibur Construction Chemistry Incorporated.
The product is a cement based, self-smoothing, decorative screed available in a
wide range of colours. The system is designed to produce a hard wearing and
seamless decorative floor surface suitable for light commercial and residential
interior applications.

TAL supplied adhesives and ancillary products for the fast-track installation
of 4500m² of tiling to Checkers Cradlestone.
Fast-track installations such as retail stores and shopping centres call
for a rapid-setting tile adhesive as quick access to the tiled area is required.
The TAL Goldstar range of rapid-setting tile adhesives was specifically
developed for fast-track floor installations.
TAL GOLDSTAR 6 is a rapid-setting, high strength, grey powder adhesive
suitable for fixing ceramic, porcelain, granite and dark-coloured marble tiles
to walls and floors in interior and exterior installations. It is high-strength,
shrinkage compensated and sets and allows traffic after six hours, depending
on site and ambient conditions.

TAL POURABLE ADHESIVE was used to install 600x600mm grey porcelain
tiles to the showroom floor of the Hyundai showroom in Weltevreden Park.
Large-format tiles used in installations such as car showrooms require a
high-strength, rapid-setting, flexible adhesive. Using a pourable adhesive with
rapid-setting and flexible characteristics will ensure solid bedding of the tiles, and
save contractors time on site.
To address the need for a suitable adhesive to install large-format tiles, TAL developed
TAL POURABLE ADHESIVE, a grey, pourable, flexible rapid-setting high-strength
cement-based adhesive, which is specially formulated to provide good wet-out on
large format tiles ensuring solid bedding with no buttering required on the tile backs.

TAL developed a customised ultra-white mosaic adhesive to install
colourful glass mosaic tiles at 300 on Kent, the new office
building of the JD Group’s Financial Services business in Randburg.
The four storey building features a different colour scheme on each
floor and this colour scheme is replicated in the bathrooms through the
use of colourful floor-to-ceiling glass mosaics that are locally manufactured.
TAL MOSAICFIX Ultra White was developed to install the glass mosaics
thereby ensuring that the aesthetics of the mosaics were highlighted. This
is a rapid-setting, flexible, high-strength and water resistant adhesive that
allows the mosaic tiles’ bright colours to come to the fore.
